Golden Berry
A delicious and easy to grow dessert member of the tomato family, producing orange berries up to 3cm (tin) across which are a tangy sweet mixture of pineapple and strawberry. Each fruit is enclosed in a papery Chinese lantern-like casing. Delicious on their own, topped with fresh cream, or made into jams, pie fillings etc. Grow like bush tomatoes. Will crop outdoors in the south in a sunny sheltered site, otherwise best in a cool greenhouse.
Lemon grass

This tropical perennial grass is grown as an annual and makes a very handsome ornamental edible. The fibrous leaves have a very strong lemon aroma and are the source of lemongrass oil that is used to flavour candy, ice cream and pastries. Made into a tea, it can help with digestive problems.



Potatoes are classified as long, round whites, round reds or sweet.
Round whites are usually large, round or oval with light to medium skin.
The flesh is white or yellow.

Sweet potatoes have sweet-tasting orange flesh with reddish skin.

The onion originated in Asia, the first written record appeared in Mesopotamia (now part of Iraq) dated 2400 BC.

It spread throughout the world and was for centuries regarded as a poor person's fare, eaten raw with a chunk of bread. Popular varieties are of cooking onions and are available all year round, thanks to modern storage methods.
